Magpie Accountancy was founded by Abigail Langridge in 2016.

I started working in practice over fourteen years ago, breaking only to complete my degree. I have a first class degree in accounting and finance and am a fully qualified accountant, being a member of the ACCA.

Having worked in three separate practices throughout Sussex, I have now taken the leap and set-up my own firm.

I have experience of working with varying business sizes and industries and aim to work closely with small and medium sized businesses throughout the UK, helping them to grow, minimising tax liabilities and keeping on top of their compliance.

Most of my spare time is taken up looking after my young son (I wouldn’t have it any other way!). I also enjoy reading, cinema and anything creative. I have a great love of animals and have two gorgeous bunnies at home!

Clare Tooke
Bookkeeper and Accountant

I have 25 years accounting experience which is split between working in the financial sector in London and working with local sole traders and small limited companies. I enjoy helping small businesses with their accounting and bookkeeping requirements so that they can concentrate on running their own business leaving me with the numbers!

Outside of work, I split my time between looking after my children and my horses.

I have had a fascinating career path thus far. Having worked in insurance, funerals, retail, healthcare and many more sectors I have gained a huge insight into businesses of all sizes from sole-traders to huge corporations but over recent years haves settled into working primarily with small businesses and charities. I am experienced in all areas of payroll and always willing to give advice and information that helps keep payroll matters organised and up to date and helps employers negotiate through the minefield of ever changing legislation in payroll.

I am obsessed with all forms of comedy be it stand-up, sitcom, stage play or just about anything else. Quite simply I’m a comedy nerd and won’t make apologies for throwing in the odd quote from Father Ted now and then!

My name is Aimee Kirkpatrick, I am originally from Auckland, New Zealand and have been in the UK since 2005. I am married with a young son and two dogs.

I have extensive office, administration and secretarial experience as I have worked as a Legal Secretary/PA for over a decade. I have worked in some of the UK’s top law firms in London and Manchester. I also have experience in working in other industries such as surveyors and recruitment firms.

I have a passion for travelling and in my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking my dogs, reading, cooking and watching a gripping box set!
